Research summary | The project aims to develop a sustainable lithium-ion battery design and recycling ecosystem. ITB from Indonesia, which has experience in battery design and recycling, and Curtin University from Australia, which has expertise in material reprocessing, will engage in intensive collaboration for this project. The project will deliver a range of outputs, including a technology demonstration of a battery recycling ecosystem, research articles, a feasible method to recycle batteries, and a cheaper battery design made with recycled materials. The outputs are expected to encourage the development of new policies for battery recycling, reduce electric vehicle prices, and support energy security by providing a cheaper option for energy storage. |
