Location: Jakarta, Indonesia
Background
The DFAT-funded Knowledge Partnership Program (KONEKSI) is Australia’s flagship program in the Indonesia knowledge and innovation sector. KONEKSI’s goal is to achieve an enduring relationship between Indonesia and Australia that advances mutual interest and supports Indonesia’s inclusive and sustainable development. The purpose of the program is to increase the use of knowledge-based solutions for inclusive and sustainable policies and technologies. This purpose positions KONEKSI as a vehicle to produce knowledge on complex socio-economic problems, where effective solutions are often beyond a unique sector or category of stakeholders. It will support both the knowledge to policy cycle (K2P) and the knowledge to innovation cycle (K2I), in a complementary and synergistic way. KONEKSI will focus on two End of Investment Outcomes (EOIOs):
- Australian and Indonesian organisations have increased collaboration and mutual understanding through knowledge partnerships; and
- Innovative solutions for inclusive and sustainable policies and technologies are generated by knowledge partnerships.
Summary of the Position
KONEKSI is seeking an event specialist to plan, coordinate, and execute successful events that align with KONEKSI goals under the supervision and guidance of the Communications Manager.
Key Responsibilities
The Event Specialist will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Communication Manager, strategically plan and organise events, including promotional activities, seminars, webinars, and others, ensuring they meet objectives and budgetary requirement;
- Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to ensure all event-related services are arranged and executed flawlessly;
- Oversee all aspects of event execution, including setup, registration, coordination of speakers or presenters, and on-site problem solving;
- Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success of events, gather feedback, and make recommendations for improvements.
Deliverables
The Event Specialist is expected to work on the development and execution of KONEKSI events. Deliverables include the following:
- Event plans and budgets
- Event materials
- Event schedule, including timelines for setup, registration, presentations, and activities.
- On-site coordination
- Event evaluation
Job Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, event management, or related discipline;
- Minimum of 5 years of working as content specialist may be considered in lieu of academic degree;
Minimum Experience:
- At least 3 years experience as an event specialist or similar role.
Essential Skills:
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Creativity and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in event planning software and tools.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Prior experience in international development is an asset.
Language Proficiency:
- Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia
