Research summary | This research project will investigate the roles of women’s climate advocacy networks and focusing on their perspectives to understand the existing gaps in advocating the issues and how adaptation policies can best support their needs and leverage the existing networks. This study uses a combination of feminist perspectives on the environment, critical analysis of societal structures, and an understanding of the ongoing effects of colonialism to explore the role of gender in discussions about the environment, development, and climate change. It will emphasise the significance of gender by investigating issues like who has access to resources and controls them, how gender shapes our understanding of knowledge, and how gender intersects with environmental and climate-related struggles. The goal is to raise awareness and knowledge about the importance of considering gender in these discussions and to encourage a renewed focus on this crucial aspect. |
