Research summary | The CORE-STEP project aims to strengthen primary healthcare’s ability to provide gender-inclusive climate services addressing the adverse effects of climate change. We will employ a mixed methods approach to collect data in the selected pilot sites in Indonesia (Banda Aceh, Ambon, and Mataram). Targeted primary healthcare centers in Australia will be involved in exchange visits and knowledge sharing. Primary healthcare professionals collaborate to develop climate services that are informed by a gender analysis, design targeted interventions, and enhance the skills of marginalized groups. Deliverables include a report of the evaluation findings, analysis on context-specific climate services, and dashboard with collated real-time data to manage interventions and climate risks. The project focuses on improving access and quality of inclusive and climate-ready primary health care through strengthening the capacity of primary health workers, involving marginalized groups in planning and decision-making, and fostering cross-sectoral collaboration. It serves as a model for other public health initiatives adapting to climate change. |
