Indonesia’s Bioeconomy: Maximising Sustainable Marine Biodiversity Utilisation 2024
BRIN-KONEKSI Joint Call
Introduction
BRIN and KONEKSI are pleased to launch the BRIN-KONEKSI Joint Call for Proposals on the theme of “Indonesia’s Bioeconomy: Maximising Sustainable Marine Biodiversity Utilisation 2024”. The Joint Call is designed to forge partnerships to generate knowledge to support policy and innovation. The scheme is jointly designed and delivered as a special initiative signalling the deep bilateral commitment between Australia and Indonesia. Its purpose is to strengthen partnerships between knowledge organisations across both countries to carry out and disseminate high-quality, multidisciplinary applied research on priority areas of the Indonesian Government.
BRIN and KONEKSI seek applications from Australia–Indonesia collaborative research partnerships to undertake projects that support Indonesia’s priorities on the bioeconomy, specifically Marine Biodiversity. Marine Biodiversity encompasses the wide variety of life in oceans and seas, including animals, plants and micro-organisms. These resources have untapped potential to support new developments in food production, medicine, renewable energy and more, and could futureproof Indonesia’s blue economy. The Joint Call will support research on sustaining and enhancing Indonesia’s marine resources and ensuring the benefits of natural resources and ecosystems are distributed fairly.
